“I want to make a promise to you today: I will keep working hard, be a good friend, stay true to my faith and do my best to make you proud. One day, I hope to give back generously, just as you are giving to me and my family.” – Leo, 2026 Gala Student Speaker

Foundations in Education hosted its annual Gala on April 15th at Woodway Country Club, bringing together community leaders, educators, supporters and clergy, led by His Excellency, Bishop Frank Caggiano to celebrate and advance the mission of Catholic education.
The evening recognized three distinguished honorees for their outstanding commitment and contributions to educational excellence. Honored at this year’s event were Pat Brady, Head of School at Catholic Academy of Stamford; Terry O’Connor, Board Chair of Kolbe Cathedral Preparatory School; and Invest In Education Foundation, with Bob Flanigan accepting the honor on the foundation’s behalf. The Invest in Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding educational choice and improving K-12 education access across the United States.
Bishop’s Scholarship Fund Impact

The impact of the Bishop’s Scholarship Fund is best reflected in the students it supports. One recipient, Greyce, is described by her principal as “an outstanding young woman with a bright and promising future. She is well poised, well spoken, and well prepared for her next step in Catholic Education at Notre Dame Prep of Sacred Heart University.” Greyce served as the student speaker at the 2025 Foundations in Education Gala, where she shared her gratitude for the scholarship support, she received and the difference it has made for her and her parents. “Greyce is well respected in our school community and exemplifies the qualities in The Portrait of a Graduate at the Catholic Academy,” said Patricia Brady, Principal of the Catholic Academy of Stamford.
Greyce is one of the many students impacted by the Bishop’s Scholarship Fund in our Diocese
of Bridgeport (DOB) Schools. We have 225 students on waiting lists across 12 of our
Diocesan elementary schools. So our enrollment is strong and growing throughout the DOB
Schools.
